Summary
We are looking for an experienced individual to join our shipping & receiving team. The tenured team member will help oversee outgoing and incoming manufactured goods and raw materials, coordinate with various other departments and team members to ensure the shipping department runs efficiently and in a timely manner, plan tasks to keep up with a revolving, fast-paced shipping schedule, and perform some administrative functions. You will oversee, train, and work alongside less tenured team members.
A successful tenured team member will be able to multitask effectively, remain calm under pressure due to often changing schedules of shipments etc. and will have a team mindset, working well with others to accomplish the day’s tasks. Preferred applicants are dedicated, competent, critical thinkers, problem-solvers, flexible, team players and have strong leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing receiving, shipping, and packing operations
- Assist in overseeing operational policies and procedures as well as all relevant safety rules and regulations
- Assist in overseeing audit of inventory coming and going to maintain accuracy and quality
- Communicate with vendors and drivers as needed in a manner that fosters goodwill and positive business relationships
- Maintain a positive motivating attitude
- Maintaining documentation and keeping accurate records of certain warehouse activities
- Perform regular shipping and receiving duties throughout the day such as loading/unloading deliveries, managing inventory, prepping shipments etc.
Requirements
- 5+ years of warehouse experience
- Excellent understanding of warehouse procedures
- Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls
- Valid drivers’ license
- Ability to operate forklift proficiently
- Proficient computer skills
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
- Outstanding leadership, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Detail oriented
- Punctual
- Strong people skills
- Available to work extended hours when necessary
